- Shifting from victimhood to empowered

Have you ever felt something tugging at you quietly–not loud enough to disrupt your life, but strong enough that it won’t let you forget? That soft inner voice that whispers, This isn’t all there is. There’s more for you. What if that whisper isn’t imagination, but the first invitation into your own spiritual awakening?
So many women feel this before they have words for it. Life looks fine on the outside, maybe even good, yet something feels disconnected. You’re functioning, not fully living. You’re giving, but not quite receiving. You’re succeeding, but don’t feel complete. That’s often where a healing journey begins—not in crisis, but in quiet discomfort.
This is the space where we explore today—not the polished version of healing, but the raw, heart-led process of waking up to yourself. A journey back to intuition, to the body, and to the wisdom held in the womb.
Spiritual Awakening: The Moment Life Shifts Timelines
Spiritual awakening rarely shows up as a dramatic moment. More often, it arrives as a gentle but undeniable shift. As guest and healer Paola Sellaro said in our conversation:
“Everyone has an awakening date… something happens in your life where it switches into gear this new timeline that you’re about to jump into.”
Her own awakening came when she left a conventional career to study kinesiology—at first, just to understand herself better, not to guide others. But spiritual awakening doesn’t ask for perfection; it asks for willingness. And when she followed that nudge, life began unfolding differently.
You might feel it too. The sense that your life is nudging you off autopilot. That you’re meant to remember something you once knew. That you’re being guided somewhere softer, deeper, real.
Remembering Intuition: What If Nothing Was Ever Wrong With You?
So many of us grow up deeply sensitive, intuitive, emotionally aware—and then slowly learn to shut it down. We’re told to be logical, realistic, less sensitive. But intuition never disappears; it only goes quiet until we’re ready to hear it again.
Paola describes it beautifully:
“You start to realise, wow, there was actually nothing wrong with me… there is this self-acceptance and self-love found later on when you go through that healing process.”
If you’ve always felt things more deeply than others, maybe your sensitivity isn’t a flaw. Maybe it’s a compass. Maybe your healing journey is really just a journey back to your original self—the one who sensed, felt, and knew long before the world told her not to.
Womb Healing: Where Creation, Pain, and Power Live Together
When we talk about womb healing, many people assume we’re only speaking about fertility or childbirth. But womb healing is so much more than physical. The womb is the epicentre of creativity, emotion, and unspoken memory. It’s where we birth ideas, visions, relationships—and yes, sometimes trauma lives there too.
Paola shared stories of women holding deep shame, fear, or grief in that space:
“They hold this trauma and shame and disgust and fear in their womb space and it manifests in the inability to conceive.”
But this isn’t just about babies. We also birth purpose, art, confidence, change. When that creative center is blocked, life feels stagnant. You might feel stuck in inspiration, relationships, or identity because the womb space isn’t just physical—it’s energetic.
“It’s your creative center… a block in that energy center can create stagnation in your ability to create anything.”
Womb healing isn’t only for mothers or mothers-to-be. It’s for anyone ready to reconnect with their feminine power, reclaim their body’s wisdom, and release what no longer belongs.
The Heart–Womb Connection: You Can’t Create if You Can’t Receive
You cannot create from a closed heart. You cannot birth a new reality if you’re still armoring against old pain. This is where the heart and womb intertwine—creation requires openness, not force.
Paola explained:
“The heart and the womb play a massive role together… when there’s a heart wall, you can’t receive, you can’t create.”
Healing the womb is powerful. But if the heart is still in protection mode—guarded, walled off, expecting hurt—it becomes impossible to fully receive love, safety, intuition, or new beginnings. That’s why spiritual awakening so often begins in the heart.
And yet, this is where it gets uncomfortable. Healing requires letting go of old beliefs: I have to earn love. I’m not worthy. It’s safer to stay small. When those unravel, your heart slowly remembers how to open again. That’s when you begin to manifest—not by force, but by alignment.
Soul Lessons and Ancestral Echoes: Why We Repeat Patterns
Have you ever wondered why the same lesson keeps showing up in your life? Why certain people, heartbreaks, or fears repeat like echoes? There’s psychology behind it—our brain seeks what’s familiar. But sometimes, on a soul level, it’s deeper.
Paola describes life as a classroom for the soul:
“Earth is a school and you’re wearing this meat suit… if you don’t pass the test of that lesson, you have to repeat it until you do.”
Patterns aren’t punishments—they’re invitations. They whisper: There’s something here for you to heal. A cycle you’re meant to end.
Spiritual awakening often begins when you stop asking, Why is this happening to me? and start asking, What is this trying to teach me?
That’s the moment you step out of victimhood and into self-leadership. The moment your healing journey stops being about fixing yourself and becomes about remembering yourself.
When the Healer Becomes the Mother: A New Kind of Awakening
Near the end of our conversation, Paola opened up about stepping into motherhood—another spiritual awakening entirely. She shared how pregnancy is reshaping her identity, softening her priorities, and asking her to surrender once again.
“I have been the healer and now I’m stepping into the mother… but within that, there is also a grieving period.”
So much of womb healing is about creation, and motherhood becomes the physical embodiment of that. Yet it’s not all softness and light. It asks you to let go of old versions of yourself, to make space for what—and who—is coming.
She said something that stopped me:
“This child holds so much more wisdom than I do… the best thing I can do is surrender and allow this soul to show me who they are.”
In a world obsessed with control and perfection, that kind of surrender is radical.
Your Own Healing Journey: What Lesson Keeps Knocking?
If you’re reading this and feeling something stir—maybe that’s your own awakening date approaching. Maybe your heart is tired of pretending it’s fine. Maybe your womb is asking to be heard. Or maybe your soul is gently whispering enough—let’s heal this.
Spiritual awakening isn’t always pretty. It asks you to feel what you’ve avoided, to let go of stories that once protected you. But it also invites you into deeper peace, creativity, and freedom than you’ve ever known.
So ask yourself:
- What keeps repeating in my life that might be a lesson?
- Where have I built a wall around my heart?
- What might my womb be holding—grief, creativity, intuition, resistance?
- Am I willing to step into my healing journey, even if I don’t know exactly what happens next?
Final Thought
Healing doesn’t make you perfect. It makes you honest. It makes you spacious. It makes you remember that you were never broken—you were just becoming.
As Paola said:
“Healing is a beautiful journey… every time you do that inner work, another shift happens and you accelerate to the next stage—it’s not a destination.”
And maybe, just maybe, your awakening is already here.

Paola Sellaro (01:33)
how it all began was I was just in a completely different career than what I am now. And I think that everyone goes through a period in their life where it’s like an awakening date. Everyone has their awakening date and something may happen in your life where it kind of like switches into gear this new timeline that you’re about to jump into. That’s exactly what happened for me.
And I started studying kinesiology merely because I just wanted to understand it, because I’ve had it done on me. I saw the benefits that I had in my life and how much it shifted my consciousness and perception of reality. I haven’t looked back since it’s evolved. I believe that when you’re in a field of service and helping others, your intuition naturally activates.
Chardét Ryel (02:28)
It feels so, when you describe it this way, it almost feels amazing to think that you wouldn’t have felt something like this before. I mean, do you remember looking back before the awakening point, which is a really lovely way of phrasing that, by the way. think that that resonates a lot for people. The moment of, know that this shifted things for me, but do you remember kind of any inklings before that?
that maybe looking back you recognize or really was it that this was the awakening time and that’s when I connected with my intuition more.
Paola Sellaro (03:06)
Great question. I believe that we are all born intuitive and connected. As a young kid, I was very sensitive to other people’s energies and I could tune into how they feel. And I would often not be the one that would ruffle any feathers. I would be the type of person that kind of keeps that peace because I knew how others are feeling. So I was always tuning into other people’s energies.
without realising that’s what I was doing. But it was so strong, like I could feel what that person was feeling as if it was my own. Over time, going through primary school and high school, you shut that part of you down because it’s so overwhelming, because you don’t learn how to balance it out, you don’t learn how to train with it, you don’t know what to do with it, so you just suppress it because it gets too much. And then I guess…
Like I said, you have an awakening date later on in life where it starts to reactivate. And it did.
Chardét Ryel (04:11)
I sensed that. was thinking, there must have been moments for you where you kind of felt it, but maybe you didn’t have the words or the safety to be able to say, is what I not necessarily am, but the way that I’m experiencing the world is different from other people. And I think that that’s really hard because it is your kind of shut down and you’re taught that what you see is what is, and that is it.
And then it’s wild because like, you know, the science behind it that we only have such a limited sense of perception visually of everything around you. And so we know like scientifically it’s impossible to be just what you see, but it’s especially as a kid, like you’re indoctrinated that that’s how it is.
Paola Sellaro (04:57)
It’s very interesting as you get older that you start to realise, wow, there was actually nothing wrong with me. I was actually being who I was and there is this self-acceptance and this self-love that is found later on when you go through that healing process that is so necessary, especially if you’re in service to others. You can only take someone as far as you’ve gone.
Chardét Ryel (05:20)
Sometimes you teach what you need to learn and I really loved that sense from you that it seemed like you’re learning more of it as you were working with these people. What were some of the things that you found when you were working with others were the most surprising points of resistance because I know when we work on ourselves, sometimes it’s very different from often really with others. Sometimes there’s commonalities but…
Sometimes there’s a point of resistance that maybe you never faced in your life that you see coming up for others. Where is there anything like that?
Paola Sellaro (05:55)
It’s interesting, sometimes I’d go through certain sessions with clients and it’s almost like I’d get a channeled message for the individual person based on what they need. And then I’d listen back to what I had just said. Firstly, I’m like, how did I even know that? And secondly, I’m like, that’s really good advice. I should really take that.
So there’s been those moments in sessions that I’ve experienced. But I’d say that one of the things that has never happened to me personally, experiences with women who have had inability to fall pregnant, miscarriages, you really feel for the individual.
Chardét Ryel (06:40)
Yeah, this is where it’s almost and not even just because when when you speak of womb space I know it can all people can always think about it meaning giving birth to a child but it’s really giving birth to a lot of things and when that feels unsafe or Tainted in some way by experiences. You really do see that there’s certain areas of your life that seem completely blocked
And I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, beyond just people who are trying to conceive, but also maybe to figure out what is their way of life, or finding that deeper creativity, or even just connecting with who they really are.
Paola Sellaro (07:21)
Yeah, absolutely. It’s your creative center. It’s the space where you’re able to channel in higher dimensional energy into the 3D physical reality. So no matter what, it’s something that you’re wanting to create in life or whether it’s a child itself or even creating change in your life, in your reality, a block in that energy center can create stagnation in your ability to create anything.
Chardét Ryel (07:46)
we feel trapped, but you can’t really pinpoint, especially if things are going well in life. I think it’s even harder because when they’re not going well, you can point to the one thing and think that’s the problem. But when they are going well and then just something still feels off, you still feel don’t connected to yourself. Yeah, it’s very jarring because you don’t know how to release it. I don’t know if there’s anything that you have found to be the most powerful in terms of some sort of paradigm shift for the people who are either trying to conceive or
maybe just feeling this blockage in the womb space in their creativity.
Paola Sellaro (08:20)
I find it interesting because I see that the heart and the womb play a massive role together. They both are coherent. At the same time, you need to work with both, not just one. Pain or the hurt or the trauma that someone’s experienced in their life, they create a heart wall. And that heart wall is something that blocks them from being able to receive. And in order for you to manifest, in order for you to create, you need to be able to receive. So the heart…
plays a massive role in the womb space as well. So I find that when we clear the dense emotions and we transmute them and we shift the state of awareness and we remove them from the victim state of thinking and being, and we get them to step into an empowered state of, actually have the remote control of my life and I can shift things.
If I want to does create a massive shift in their reality, whether it’s literally like, as soon as you shift that perception, you allow yourself to step into this new reality shift. It’s almost like all of the doors that have been waiting for you are finally opened and you can walk through and healing is a beautiful journey. It’s an amazing journey and it’s not a destination. So you’re constantly meeting new versions of yourself.
Every time you do that inner work and every time you do that inner work, another shift happens and you accelerate to the next stage. And it’s just, it’s an amazing experience to have experienced and also to witness others go through that too.
Chardét Ryel (09:58)
I’m going to ask you about some of what you’ve witnessed because I think that really hearing stories and it can be completely anonymous of course, but just hearing stories makes it super tangible. I want to first touch on something that you mentioned about, well, beginning with the heart and that when you said it, feels very true, but it’s not something that would have initially hit my mind. And I’m sure for the listener that’s…
true as well. Like you think this is the problem area, let me focus on the problem area, not the connectiveness. When you’re thinking about what’s blocking the heart, when you’re thinking about people who are stuck more in this, the world is happening to me versus I can create, I can do. What are some of the ways that they have this wall around their heart? ⁓
Paola Sellaro (10:45)
Prevot does stem from our childhood. It starts there because it’s like the seed. It’s the foundation of our ability to develop safe relationships with others. Because as a child, it’s so unconscious. It’s so embedded within us. As we become adults, we start manifesting certain similar experiences that we’ve had as children. For example, it was very volatile growing up. Mum and dad.
very volatile, and it created this sense of unsafety. They were so absorbed in their own experiences that they weren’t able to give you the love that you needed. And then you start developing a belief system that you’re not worthy, you’re not worthy of love, that you need to prove yourself in order for you to receive love. You need to have this, you need to have this body shape, you need to have this much money in your bank account.
a status in order for you to receive love. So a lot of the beliefs start to shape as a young child, because we learn by seeing our parents. We learn by how we feel and experience that connection with our parents. But once you do the work, you start realizing, my God, I’ve literally manifested my father in another person. I’m positive or negative, you know? But yeah, I do believe that it stems from childhood and then it just, it’s like a tumbleweed.
You collect more as the experience goes on and on and on until one day you say enough is enough and you begin healing and working through it.
Chardét Ryel (12:25)
you’re creating replicas, mini replicas of what you experience, almost like you’re trying to pass that level. You never got past that level. And so you’ve recreated it to try and do it. But if you’re not aware and conscious of it, then that becomes just this cycle. But perhaps you can speak a little bit more about why the replicas happen.
Paola Sellaro (12:46)
There’s different reasons and different standpoints is like the psychology behind it. And then there’s also the soul lesson, right? So the, the psychology behind it is it’s a belief system. And when you have this belief in your subconscious mind, you have this auricular activator where you will constantly look for the same in every person because it feels known. Not that it’s something that you want.
It’s just because it’s known to you. There’s a similar vibrational imprint that you get attracted to. Not because you know consciously, it’s all happening behind the scenes. But on a soul level, you’re unable to shift to the next stage unless you learn the lesson from that experience. You come to school to learn, right? And it’s like earth is a school and you’re wearing this meat suit.
This is your uniform, but your soul lives within you. And you go through certain lessons in life. If you don’t pass the test of that lesson, you then have to repeat it over and over again until you then learn the lesson. It’s not happening to punish you. It’s actually happening to help you evolve. And it’s a beautiful thing when we see it from a higher perspective, because now we’ve removed ourselves from victim.
And we actually are able to look at it from, okay, what is this experience actually teaching me? And it takes a lot of time for people to get to that point. But when you do, you shift quicker. You shift through realities quicker.
Chardét Ryel (14:23)
That’s the encouraging part, I think, is that because we always talk about the healing journey being so amazing and it is, it’s also really messy and really painful. can transition faster between things as you get going with it. It’s not always as difficult as it is in that first stage. Yeah, I think it’s very interesting to just pause and think for anyone listening about what is the lesson that maybe is coming up for you again and again.
Have you noticed, because I mentioned I was gonna ask you this and I think it’s probably makes most sense now. What are the differences you’ve noticed in people you’ve worked with once they’ve gone through this journey? They’ve opened their heart, they’ve reconnected with that womb space versus where they were before.
Paola Sellaro (15:08)
They
are able to manifest quicker. So the reason being is there’s no longer resistance. They’ve opened up their heart and they’re no longer attached to the past. They see the past as wisdom and they’re able to shift to the next stage of their life quicker. Perfect example, I’ve had a client of mine who she was attached to falling pregnant. She actually kind of was pushing it away if anything.
Because that’s the law of manifestation. The more you attach yourself to it, the more you cling onto it, the more it builds that resistance and pulls itself away. It’s the sense of when you listen to the guidance and you actually follow through with that guidance, you’re able to see it all unfold the way it needs to for your highest good. But whilst you’re still attached, it’s not going to happen.
I had another client of mine saying, does letting, why is letting go so hard? And I said, because you’re not letting go, you’re still holding on. That’s why it’s so hard. It’s like holding onto a rope. And then you realize you’re getting the rope burn in your hand. That’s why it’s hard because you’re still attached. The moment you disattach and you surrender is when it no longer hurts.
Chardét Ryel (16:28)
curious for your own perspective. you think that everyone reaches an awakening date?
Paola Sellaro (16:34)
Did our older generation reach an awakening date? No. All of that ancestral healing that we are doing now in this lifetime is a result of the healing that they have not yet been able to achieve.
Chardét Ryel (16:48)
It makes me think too a little bit about, and this is pivoting completely, but I want to make sure, because I told you before we started recording that you were talking to me about your own experience. I think it aligns with what we’ve been saying of journeys, transitions, opening your heart, womb space, et cetera. Because I know that you are pregnant first, baby. You were saying before we started recording that how this is impacting the way that you.
are showing up, the way you think of your work, the way you think of your journey.
Paola Sellaro (17:20)
my life is consolidating. I feel like I’m consolidating a part of me that once was in order for me to shift into that next state, to become the mother. I have been the healer and now I’m stepping into the mother. There is also a grieving period, which is very common and very normal because as we evolve, we must honor the fact that there is a part of us that we are no longer going to experience anymore. The freedom.
just having to wake up in the morning and not have to think about anybody else and it is confronting because there’s a big responsibility that you are harnessing. There is that process of really digesting that impact that this is going to have on one’s life. I’m still human and we all are. We go through these processes of unbecoming so we can then become who we are.
It’s interesting to just observe and see myself sometimes.
Chardét Ryel (18:20)
What do you think is the lesson or the lessons that you’ve had in this healing journey and being a healer for others that you want to pass down, implement, create for your child? What’s really important for you there?
Paola Sellaro (18:36)
You know, I’ve never really thought of it like that. What I’m, what’s coming to me is that this child holds so much more wisdom than what I do. And I feel like as I’m tuning in, feel like if anything, this child’s going to come into my world and teach me a lot. The best thing that I can possibly do is surrender to what this child is wanting to show me without pushing what I think they should do.
Chardét Ryel (19:05)
I love it because it does actually, touches on what you have done, which is the open heart, the letting go. I’m to ask now where people can connect with you.
Paola Sellaro (19:16)
I am on Instagram, equilibrium underscore intuitive. I have also in-person and online sessions for people who are overseas or in person that can see me. There’s so many resources that I do have already available. For example, meditations, guided meditations.
I teach muscle testing and kinesiology. So I have a little mini course for anybody who is interested in learning how to muscle test, how to find out what trapped emotions they’re holding onto. And that’s something that you can do on yourself or you can help others with.
Chardét Ryel (19:51)
I love that you have resources that people can do on their own. I especially want to point people in the direction of, well, the show notes will have all the links, but I also want to really recommend the muscle testing because I think this is something that people are not familiar with and often they think they have to go in person to receive that, which of course you can, but the idea that you offer as a way at home is really, really amazing. And that kind of knowledge.
can be really fundamental to some people who feel like I know something is trapped and I just don’t know what.
Paola Sellaro (20:25)
It’s so powerful to empower the individual so that way they don’t have to rely on others to be their savior. Whereas they can tune into this innate wisdom within themselves to access that. Just like a doctor, know, a doctor, you go to the doctor and you’re just constantly going to see them and you feel this powerlessness every time because you don’t have the power within you to tap into something greater. This is why this course is so great because it allows you to step into
this state of knowing thyself.
Chardét Ryel (20:55)
I want to thank you for being here and for sharing so openly for all the work you’ve really done over the years.
Paola Sellaro (21:02)
Thank you so much, you’re so lovely, God bless you. You’re so sweet, oh my gosh. I’m getting emotional.
Chardét Ryel (21:08)
And thank you so much for listening. Share this one with someone who you feel is maybe feeling a little trapped, maybe feeling a little stuck. It could be in this journey of motherhood. It could be in this journey of creating. It just is that something is not releasing for them. This could be the conversation that gets them to reflect. Thank you for being here as always.
for open minds, for reflecting on your own experience, and for continuing to connect with the amazing women that come on this show. Sending you so much energy, release, and possibilities. I’ll see you in the next one.
